It's Cool to be a Cool Vendor

Everyone here was pleased this week with the news that Alert Logic was named a “Cool Vendor” by Gartner in their Cool Vendors in Security: Security Services, 2013 report. We were one of only four vendors that Gartner selected, so it was an exclusive list. And of course, it’s just cool to be cool; who doesn’t want to be cool? But beyond the “coolness” of being selected, we are even more proud of why Gartner says Alert Logic is cool. Each year, Gartner identifies new Cool Vendors in key technology areas and publishes a series of research reports highlighting the products and services that make these vendors noteworthy. In the 2013 report, the full suite of Alert Logic Security-as-a-Service solutions was analyzed, including intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, log management and web application firewall services. While the report covers one year, there are 10 years worth of hard work behind this award. Our scaled-out, multitenant, cloud-based architecture has grown and expanded with our customer base, requiring careful planning and investments. Over the last ten years we’ve assembled our partner network of the leading cloud and hosting providers – partners that are essential to our business and that we’re very proud to work with. Even newer offerings like our Amazon Web Services solutions are built on our decade of cloud security expertise. We are very proud of each and every one of these foundational elements of our business at Alert Logic, just as much as we are proud that Gartner has recognized what we have accomplished. And congratulations to the other vendors selected as cool vendors, Bluebox, Digital Shadows and Skyhigh Networks. We are honored to be mentioned along with them. Ultimately, the cool vendor distinction is not just about what we have done so far. It also spotlights our forward-thinking model and bodes well for the future. As the move to the cloud gains acceleration we are uniquely positioned to be the leading Security-as-a-Service provider of cloud infrastructure security. Many of our customers and partners thought we were already cool and didn’t need Gartner to tell them so. We will continue to work hard and innovate so that they will continue to think we’re cool. But more than being cool, we have a mission at Alert Logic to deliver the best security services we can to our customers and partners. Cool or not, that has always been and will continue to be our job.
