As part of its efforts to provide customers with greater transparency and control of their data in Microsoft cloud services, today, Microsoft announced it is enhancing Office 365 activity logs to include admin, user and policy actions, and will release a new Office 365 Management Activity API so that customers and partners can tap into these activity logs and build solutions that will result in greater security and compliance assurance.
Alert Logic has been working with Microsoft to implement the Activity API to collect Office 365 events. Our security analysts will now be able to review these events, along with the security event information from cloud services in addition to Office 365 or on-premises environments, to identify potential threats and help customers protect their environment. We can also consolidate all of these events into a centralized archive, making it easier to comply with standards that require log retention and log review.
We are excited to be able to provide our customers with increased insight into their Office 365 service, and we look forward to continuing our work with Microsoft to improve security and compliance in the cloud.
